Meet our Wonderful Team.

The team at Labrador Kindergarten work hard to ensure the programs and kindergarten environment are of the highest possible standard and that there is consistency in the overall running of the Kindergarten. We prioritise allocating Educators over the current educator to child ratios so each group has not only two but three incredible teachers/educators to ensure premium and inclusive educational support for our children. Please get to know our incredible team below and learn what they love most about being apart of the Labrador Kindergarten family.

Miss Lena

Teacher / Director

I am a passionate Early Childhood Teacher that brings 25 years of experience in various Early Childhood Settings in Germany and Australia and proud Mum to a 9-year-old boy. I hold an Advanced Diploma of Early Childhood and prospectively a Graduate Diploma of Teaching in 2026.

At Labrador Kindergarten I aim to collaboratively create an inclusive, safe and supportive environment where every family feels welcomed and each child feels nurtured, respected and is supported to become a life-long-learner. Play is at the heart of my pedagogical approach; I believe in the power of play-based learning to inspire creativity, problem solving, resilience, and cooperation. I believe in respectful and reciprocal relationships and partnerships with families and First Nation peoples and emphasise the importance of Nature Play and sustainable practices. As one of the directors, I advocate for a high-quality program, positive staff relations and a strong connection to the wider community of our service.

Miss Mary

Educator (Chungara & Gowanda Group)

I have been working at Labrador Kindergarten since 2008 and hold a Diploma of Children’s Services. I love our community and the families that join us here. I believe every child is unique and an individual and nurture encouragement, reassurance and space for them to learn and develop skills at their own level and in their own time. I also understand and value that children learn from hands on experiences, the environment around them as well as the people in it and that is why I feel it is very important for me to be a positive role model for the children and feel grateful for our natural play environment and surroundings that encourage Nature Play. I look forward to spending time and getting to know the children as well as the families that join us here at Labrador Kindergarten and wish for every child to make the most of their learning journey through play.

Miss Lisa

Educator (Chungara Group)

I have worked in Early Childhood for the past 20 years with children of all ages from birth to school age and hold my Cert III, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood as well as having three wonderful children of my own. In 2019, I was lucky enough to join the amazing team at Labrador Kindergarten. What I love about our beautiful Centre is that it’s such a lovely environment to work in and is so welcoming and friendly. I’m excited to get to know and work with all the children and be part of their learning journey at this wonderful Kindergarten. I wish for every child to grow and learn to their full potential and to prepare them to begin their schooling journey.

Miss Georgie

Educator (Gowanda Group)

Labrador Kindergarten holds a special place in my heart as my both my son and daughter attended this Centre and loved it. I also love the community that comes with the parent’s involvement. I hold a Diploma in Education Support and Certificate in Child Care and Education and have worked with children since 1987 in schools, childcare, kindergartens and special schools.  I love to be able to make a difference by supporting the children who need inclusive help and to see how the children grow and mature throughout their year at Kindergarten. Most of all I love to watch them grow and become confident learners and have fun!

Miss Kelly

Administrative Manager

My family has a long history with Labrador Kindergarten as my husband attended here in 1984 and my son in 2008. So to now be the Administrative Manager is very exciting!  I am here to assist and support all families, staff and wider kindergarten community. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing and over 20 years’ experience in Administration, Business Management and Marketing, you will find me in the office on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.  Please feel free to pop into the office if you ever need to have a chat or contact me by phone or email.

and last but not least, you.

As a community kindergarten who relies and thrives on parent participation when enrolling your child at Labrador Kindergarten, there is an expectation that families will participate in one or more of the ways listed below:

  •  Becoming a member of the Management Committee, working closely with the staff to make important decisions for the Kindergarten.

  •  Attending working bees where various building and property maintenance tasks are completed.

  •  Participating in the parent roster, where you attend the Kindergarten during program time and assist the staff where required.

  •  Sharing your particular skills / profession / interests as part of the educational program.

At Labrador Kindergarten we believe that families are partners and co-contributors in their children’s learning and we prioritise drawing upon our families understanding, wisdom, knowledge of and hopes for their child to create the most rich and meaningful experience for all of our children.
